Providing a friendly, confidential, safe and professional therapeutic service to children, young people and adults.
Counselling In Chester is a private counselling and psychotherapy service founded in 2007 by Katie Cakirer. We offer therapeutic services to children, young people and adults, either on an individual basis or together as a family.
Having trained separately in Counselling and Psychology, the services offered are provided to suit the specific needs of each individual client. Our foundations for practice lie within the Person Centred Approach but an integrated therapy is often offered working with approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT). We work both on a short-term basis (typically between six and twelve sessions) and long-term basis with more complex issues.
We do not believe that therapy is used to change who you fundamentally are, more to enhance your strengths, use your inner resources and develop tools and techniques to manage the difficulties you encounter, to enable you to live a happier, calmer and more content life. Therapy can be, for some, a very difficult process to work through but we believe that by providing a safe and secure environment to work within and focussing on your goals, you will successfully achieve the best for you.
